Uniquely positioned at the intersection of production, entertainment, and community development, Ryan Schemmel has over a decade of experience owning and operating Fort Houston based out of Nashville, TN. Originally a nationally recognized makerspace that incubated over 300 makers and small businesses, Ryan led its vast network of creatives as a tool for inner-city placemaking. It ignited a city and created a template for other communities to follow.
While Fort Houston has now evolved into an experiential fabrication company, Ryan still specializes in acting as a creative conduit for you and your project, consulting on subjects related to placemaking (economic + community development), business development, events + entertainment, and film production. Ryan graduated from Belmont University in 2010 and has navigated all the challenges that face small businesses.
